Junkanoo 2008...

Junkanoo is a Bahamian festival that is celebrated early in the morning on Boxing Day (Dec. 26).  This video is a cut and paste of several videos that I took of the 2008 Junkanoo Festival in George Town, Great Exuma.  I cut out most of the brass instruments because they have no place in the traditional Junkanoo music and quite frankly, they make the music sound like it comes from some high school football band (not that there's anything wrong with that!)  No, really, I was just being PC.  I really hate football marching bands and the poor excuse for music that they spew forth!  The traditional music is a composition of drums, cow bells and whistles and when done right, is incredible!
