Preceding the front we crossed to the Bahamas...

... with the relatively light winds on the nose and pounding into seas.  We cleared customs in Bimini and then had a beautiful night sail, beam reaching across the banks, to the NW Channel.  We then turned right at the NW Channel and sailed south down the "Tongue of the Ocean".  That's when the cold front coming off of the east coast of the U.S. caught up with us.  We were sailing under double reefed main and genoa.  The winds were between 25 to 29 knots on a broad reach.  Michael and Deb were used to rough passages by this time and were actually enjoying the "sleigh ride."
