2/09/09  The 5F Festival...

We went to Little Farmers Cay last week in order to attend the 5F Festival...

02/02/09  A guest, an island and a wedding...

Huh?

Emmie, a friend of Debbie's flew in for a weeks' visit.  She brought with her some documents from the states as well as chocolate covered almonds and other treats.  The weather was not at it's best but we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly...

01/14/09  Jumentos, friends, great diving... what more can one ask for?

Money! Please send lots of $$ so we can afford to keep on cruising like this!

A few days after Christmas, the winds died down and the weather got really nice... "road trip!"  We were in George Town and only about 35 miles from the Jumentos, which has some of the best diving in the Bahamas, so what the heck.

01/03/09  Another year passes and

what do we have to show for it...

Lot's!  Great memories of great times with great friends.  It really doesn't get any better than this!

Our good friends, Debbie and Dennis, arrived on the windiest day we had had in a while. This wouldn't have been such a big deal except for the fact that they were flying in on their small plane..

12/14/08 - The places are the same but the pictures have changed...

We enjoyed Thanksgiving at the Sampson Cay Club and were served a feast like only mom could make... really nice!  Debbie's daughter, Shelly, came down for a few days and discovered beach shopping!  Man... did she enjoy that!  Caught a small tuna and ate him with wasabi and soy 2 minutes after I got him off the hook...Yum!

11/26/08 - Ft. Lauderdale to the Exumas

We left Ft. Lauderdale just ahead of a strong cold front, beat into moderate easterlies and cleared into Bimini.  We were only in Bimini for about an hour and then rushed eastwards across the Banks to the NW Channel...

11/12/08 - Charleston to Ft. Lauderdale

We left Charleston with a somewhat optimistic weather report.  "The low pressure system that was forming offshore would be moving towards the North" and our southing in the boat would put us in progressively calmer weather conditions... not!

11/02/08 - Southport to Charleston

Back in 1984 I made my first trek to the Bahamas in my 20' Pacific Seacraft Flicka.  The boat had charts, a compass, a depth sounder and a handheld radio direction finder...

10/16/08 - Leaving the Dock. Destination - Bahamas

Finally!  The work is mostly done.  The boat is packed up and fueled and we're more than ready to slip the dock lines and start heading down the waterway...
