Links to my friends pages In alphabetical order!!!
This was my Web Page when I was cruising on my MC30 in 06-07. Bond Yachts, the manufacturer of the MotorCat 30, liked my page so much that I gave it to them. They're now hosting it and have it linked to their home page. There are some great pictures on this page. (So I've been told anyway...) My favorites are the spearfishing/underwater shots in the Jumentos. Enjoy!
My Friend Cap'n Ron lives on his boat in Charleston, SC. A personal chef and purveyor of his own wonderful island spice blends containing no salt, sugar or fillers. This way you can spice up your dishes as much or as little as you want without salting yourself to death! We visit Ron on our way to and from the Bahamas and enjoy his cooking and excellent dock parties.
This is the charter business page for Pam and Oliver on Dejarlo. They're always smiling and forever having fun. Oliver is a very good diver and spear fisherman; and we've had many fruitful, if not always serene, diving adventures together. I'm not going to tell the world about Pam's cooking and baking skills... You can call me anything that you want just DON'T call me late for dinner!
Tom and Amy's Blog site that is always interesting. Although you can't tell it, I stole the basic outline of my site from them. Thanks guys! Love them Weasels (Ferrets), Milo and Mila, very entertaining whether you have food on you or not.
I met Jon and Heather at Little Farmers Cay in 1998. They made the mistake of anchoring next to me so I dove on their anchor and told them that they needed to set it. I made up for that little introduction later, when I delivered some fresh lobster to their boat after a dive. We spent a lot of time cruising together that year including a memorable day at the beach on the N. side of Rum Cay where we saved at least one beached Beaked Whale. They're doing central America, and their blog should be interesting.
Craig and Lisa bought my former trawler and they cruised the Abacos during the winter of 06-07. I ran into them in Beaufort, NC late May when I was coming back from my Bahamas cruise on Cat's Away; and they were headed North on the start of their Great Loop cruise. They're a little slack about updating their Web Page; but hey, they're busy cruising.
This is John and Kathy's Web page. These are folks that I have fun with whenever we meet. They just bought a new (to them) Gulfstar sailboat after selling the original "Miss Alice". Good to have you back on the water!
My friend Steve just wrote his memoirs about his adventures in Mexico back in the early 70s and, man..., it reads like the best of the New York Times...
Vicki Damon is a cruiser, world traveler and great friend. She and her husband Peter can be found cruising the Bahamas on their trawler Nomad. Vicki is also my very favorite artist. No matter whether it's her soft island water colors, her Gauguin outboard engine cover or her extraordinary hand painted silks, I'm always awed by her imagination and artistic talents. |
Commercial Links Use your phone as a chartplotter and SO much more! The ActiveCaptain web site offers marina reviews and other valuable information for thousands of marinas. Find anchorages and boat ramps, check on bridge openings, and access valuable data supplied by fellow Captains.
As the builder of over 1000 Gemini catamarans and many Telstar trimarans; Tony, Sue and family have their finger on the pulse of what most people are looking for in a multihull. A FUN boat to sail that's also very comfortable and safe. Thanks Guys!
A wealth of information for both the person considering the cruising lifestyle as well as veteran cruisers. Articles, boat specifications and reviews, systems, gear etc.
I must have used this calculator a hundred times while searching for FELIX. There's more to comparing sailboats than "how many does she sleep?" Take note marine manufacturing marketers!
Great prices on everything a sailor could want from sails and cushions to standing and running rigging, hardware and even electronics. Very nice people to deal with!
Love this site for my 7 day wind and wave report customized for any location on earth. Give them a Lat & Long, and you get your virtual buoy report sent to your email or on the web. A year's subscription cost about the same as 4 Kaliks at Chat and Chill's on Volleyball Beach.
My source for all of the pieces and parts to put together a serious long range WIFI system. How do you think that I was able to update my Web page from 3 miles out?...
A nice place to get your batteries charged and keep them charged...
I've been using Google since early on in their creation. Too bad I was in the Bahamas cruising when they did their IPO...
I promised a friend that I would put up the link to the US Customs user fee decal site. Here it is. You too can purchase a decal that is required to get you back into the country after you've gone cruising foreign ports. It costs the equivalent of 6 Kaliks or 5 gal of Bahamian feul (this week...)
Sideline Performance Auto & Marine Parts (Sorry but there's no Web page) "Sideline Bob" is a great asset when cruising the Bahamas. If you need any parts for your boat and call him in the morning, he will hunt them down and put them on the first Reggie Air flight to Georgetown (usually the same day!) For what he does, his prices are VERY reasonable you can find him at 1619 SW 2nd Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315 or give him a call at (954) 761-3713.
Onpassage.com is a one-stop resource for cruising yachts worldwide; it provides information for the experienced blue water sailor as well as for those who are planning their first passage.
Another source for cruising Web pages is the Salty Sailor. Check them out for your reading pleasure! |
